Timber Framing and Timber Frame Education in Duluth Minnesota

Building is a process that revolves and evolves around conversations. The more care is taken in considering all aspects and persons involved, the better the result will be. Whether you are looking to start a conversation or would like me to join into one, please feel free to get in touch.
Workshop model
This model is a 1:8 scale of the 10′ by 16′ workshop frame I teach at North House Folk School.
I use scale drawings to arrive at the layout for, in this case, the common rafters.
A few common rafters on the plate and ridge.
The common rafters in profile.
Hips and Jack rafters in quasi plan view.
Hip rafter and jacks closer up.
And even closer for the hip rafter to plate seat cut.
That same seat cut. Laid out and executed at scale.
The corresponding seat cut for the ridge.
Many more parts.
Laid out and cut to demonstrate the steps.
